The WVCA is a registered non-profit organization that was founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in March 1985, and we continue to rely on the dedication of our distinguished volunteers in the community, whether elected to positions at the annual general meeting, or those who say "Yes, I will volunteer" when called upon.
WVCA works with The City of Edmonton, Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) and Westview Village Office, to facilitate recreational, sports and cultural programs for the residents of Westview Village. Program funding is applied for through the City of Edmonton in the form of operation grants. A huge thank you goes to the Westview Village Office and ownership, for their financial support, as well.
We host a variety of programs and activities for the residents. Some programs have nominal charges, while others are free of charge.
Past events and programs include: adult and teen dances, youth nights, children's Easter and Christmas parties, craft classes, yoga classes, grief counselling, bingos, pancake breakfasts.
Annual events include: Westview Days in June, Spring and Fall Trade shows, to name a few. The Spring and Fall community suppers are co-hosted by WVCA and Westview Office.
The outdoor rink facility, the Summer and Winter Green Shack programs, and the spring baseball and T-Ball programs are also brought to you by the Association.
WVCA welcomes and encourages suggestions for new ideas and programs, by contacting one of the members of the executive.
